Msc in Practical Dermatology

Overview

The MSc in Practical Dermatology launched in September 2009. The course begins with a 10-week block of online study to allow you to develop your study and research skills. Following the in-course formative assessment at the end of the 10-week study block, you will have 12 months to submit the 20,000 word dissertation. After this time, you will have 6 months to make any amendments. The MSc will be assessed by the submission of the dissertation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have completed and passed the Diploma in Practical Dermatology course delivered by Cardiff University (University of Wales College of Medicine) after 2002 (i.e. from the 2002-3 course onwards as this is when the course was fully delivered online) and must have gained one of the following:

DPD with departmental commendation/ merit
DPD with distinction
DPD gaining a combined score of 70% in the case histories and written assignment components of the DPD

Good English language skills are essential, and candidates must satisfy the criteria of the Cardiff University General Entrance Requirement.
It is a programme requirement that participants have access to a computer that is connected to the internet.
